چکیده
The infant female is unique. Her particular qualities include specific genetic, hormonal, and physiological ingredients that help sculpt her development. Parental influences and the wider society and culture have a profound shaping effect on her particular biological components. Whereas male infants have their own inimitable developmental line, this paper’s focus is on the female. Our recent history of knowledge about infant development has been schismatically driven, a rift I briefly address herein. This paper is essentially a theoretical one wherein I offer an integration of our current understanding of the complex interactive role of biology and environment in shaping the trajectory of female development. I detail some of the female infants’ distinctive features and their mothers’ responses to them.

Immediate early gene (ZENK, Arc) expression in the auditory forebrain of female canaries varies in response to male song quality.
In male songbirds, the song control pathway in the forebrain is responsible for song production and learning, and in females it is associated with the perception and discrimination of male song. However, experiments using the expression of immediate early genes (IEGs) reveal the activation of brain regions outside the song control system, in particular the caudomedial nidopallium (NCM) and the ...
متن کاملDT-MRI Tractography and its Application in Cognitive Neuroscience
Recent advancement of MRI techniques and development of new methods of image analysis have allowed us to study large neural tracts within the human brain. This is based on the principle of diffusion tensor MRI that is similar to that of diffusion-weighted imaging but takes magnitude and direction of the diffusion of water into account. Using this technique we have been able to define large neur...
